Last time, I blogged about my Top Ten Gifts for Wisconsin Loving Adults which you can access here.  This time, my focus is all about the kids.  I love gifts that encourage learning, adventure, and stepping away from technology long enough to experience real life.  These gifts encourage all of those things with a bit of Wisconsin flair attached to them.

1.  I Love Wisconsin: An ABC Adventure by Sandra Magsamen

This book is perfect for ages 3-10 and will inspire you and your children to want to visit some of the best landmarks and landscapes in Wisconsin.  Combine this great adventure book with Wooden Train Alphabet Set with Magnetic Train Cars.  As you read about Wisconsin and go through the alphabet, the children can build the ABC train to help them go on their adventure.

2.  Flavor of Wisconsin for Kids: A Feast of History, with Stories and Recipes Celebrating the Land and People of Our State by Terese Allen

Do your children enjoy helping you cook in the kitchen?  This book is designed for your 9-12 year old child and you to learn about the foods and flavors of Wisconsin along with the history.  A book that will help your child and you have many great learning adventures in the kitchen while learning about the great state of Wisconsin.  Combine this gift with a Curious Chef Children's 17-Piece Measure & Prep Kit to aid them in trying out the great recipes in the book.

3.  The Kids' Guide to Birds of Wisconsin: Fun Facts, Activities and 86 Cool Birds by Stan Tikiela

This beautiful book will help your child identify 86 of the most common birds found in Wisconsin.  With full color photos, you child simply has to go to the section in the book that has the color of the bird he/she is hoping to identify.  Combine this book with a  21 Piece Outdoor Explorer Play Set with Binoculars to help your child go birding.

4.  The Twelve Days of Christmas in Wisconsin by Erin Eitter Kono

This book is absolutely adorable and will help your children learn about the state of Wisconsin in a fun festive way this Christmas.  The perfect book for Christmas vacation that will inspire learning while being fun.  It is a super fun, enjoyable book and will give you some new lyrics to sing to an old favorite Christmas carol.  Don't be surprised if the parents or grandparents learn a thing or two about Wisconsin that they never knew before.  Designed for kids ages 5 and up.  Combine this with The Twelve Days of Christmas Instrumental Karaoke Music to help the children sing their new Wisconsin Christmas Carol.

5.  Frank Lloyd Wright for Kids: His Life and Ideas by Kathleen Thorne-Thompson

One of America's best architects grew up right here in Wisconsin.  It was the surroundings he grew up in that inspired his architecture.  A wonderful art book for budding architects ages 9 and up.  Pair this book with Famous Buildings of Frank Lloyd Wright (Dover History Coloring Book) so your children can color this architect's masterpieces as they learn about them.  Maybe your family can plan on visiting one of his homes or buildings that exist right here in Wisconsin.

6.  Wisconsin Kid's Travel Journal

This is such an awesome journal for kids.  The prompts inside this travel journal will help kids record the weather, what they saw, what they ate, who they met, what they learned, what they are thankful for, etc.  There are travel games and places for them to draw or glue in some souvenirs.   Perfect to take along on any road trip or camping trip in Wisconsin.  Combine this with a Colored Pencil Set with Handy Travel Case so your child will have lots of colorful options to fill up his/her travel journal with.  A beautiful way to create a lovely keepsake and keep your child from asking, "Are we there yet?"

7.  Wisconsin Playing Cards

This card set would make an excellent stocking stuffer for your child.  While these are regular playing cards that your child can take along on vacation and play any card game with, this set of cards is also unique because all of the pictures on them are scenes from Wisconsin with fun facts to learn about the state.  Combine this with The Ultimate Book of Family Card Games and your child will learn to play over 50 of the most popular card games.

8.  Wisconsin Cookie Cutter

This cookie cutter can be used by children of all ages.  They can cut their sandwiches, fruit or cheese slices into the state of Wisconsin, make sugar cookies and decorate them, use it as a pancake mold or simply cut shapes out of Play-Doh

9.  Green Bay Packers Push and Pull Toy

Do you have a crawler or new walker or know someone with a baby or toddler?  Teach them from a young age which team is worth rooting for.  Get them dressed up for the occasion in a Green Bay Packer's Onesie, give them this toy to pull around at your next football gathering, and they will be the talk of the party.

10.  Good Night Wisconsin by Adam Gamble

Last but not least, tuck your little ones into bed while saying goodnight to places like Madison, the Milwaukee County Zoo, Door County, Great Lakes, Wisconsin State Fair, Milwaukee Art Museum, Lambeau Field, Milwaukee Brewers, cranberry bogs and more.  A sweet way to settle your child down for the night while helping them dream about fun places in Wisconsin to visit.  Don't forget to tuck this Wisconsin Plush Cow in with them to help them dream about the dairy state.
